Branding Project
2025

This university project required me to redesign a chosen advertising campaign found in a newspaper. I chose to redesign an advertisement for a hearing aid named Ampli-Ear (original ad above).

The campaign consists of two main components: large-scale billboard ads and a digital collaboration offshoot. The collaborative section, coined ‘Hear Good Inc,’ is an extension of the inital rebrand affiliated with the band Gorillaz. ‘Hear Good Inc.’ is a play on Gorillaz’ most famous track ‘Feel Good Inc.’ geared to promote the hearing aid by mirroring the four characters in the Gorillaz album cover with famous characters in western media.

The characters are in a vector silhouette style paired with their famous mannerisms in order to provide the audience with a sense of achievement if they recognise them. The campaign aims to elevate what was once a very static advert with severely lacking engagement to a multifaceted rebrand that aims to engage with multiple audiences. Using well-known western characters aims to transcend potential limitations, then crosses over to music fans, widening the audience even further with the collaborative aspect.
